I love the features on this unit. Initially I could not get it to work. Sometimes it did not recognize my command and kept saying, "try again" and sometime, it called someone else in my contact instead of the person I really wanted to call. Sometimes, called a number that I did not know. After playing with the unit for a while, I figured out I had to say the contact name as it was in my contact, meaning, saying first and last name. I deleted everyone's last name and it worked. Some contacts, such as business I had to just
Leas as the first name of the business. Example, the place I go for my hair cut is named "Her's and His hair cut", I just renamed "Hair". I think I should not have to do that, but is the only way I could get it to work. However if I have a contact as "Sandy Miller", I should be able to just say "Call Sandy" or "Call Sandy Smith", either way it should work.
But it did not.
The unit is very nice and have nice features as telling us how is calling, it has voice text which I think is cool.

The BlueAnt Q2 is touted as a wonder for Android and Blackberry users, but it works amazingly well for dreaded Windows Phone 7 user. I have owned this unit for about two days and it definitely runs circles around any Bluetooth device I have ever used.

The on/off switch took a bit of getting use to, but over all you soon realize you will not be turning the unit off very much so it is a moot point. Charging time according to the manual is 3-4 hours, but I saw the "white light" charge-complete LED within one hour of most recharges. I plan to charge it mostly overnight regardless. The volume buttons and main talk/Multi-Function Button (MFB) are very distinguished and easily discernible so the multiple features each button has is rarely confusing. Even the LED light is not overbearing and can be shut down, as needed.

As far as functions, the BlueAnt Q2 loaded both my work and personal phonebooks with ease, with my personal being the Windows Phone and my work is an Android based phone. All indicated functions that the Q2 claims to have, worked on the Windows Phone. Music, voice activation, text message reading and answering, GPS directions, and satellite radio all flow through earpiece with exceptional sound quality and ample volume. One key thing, according to the manual the audio only works on the phone first paired. That is not an issue with me as my work phone is featured-down anyway and strangely, I initially paired my work phone first and still heard the audio out of my second-paired personal phone. Therefore, there may be a little wiggle room on that paring thingy.

In closing, I have to say that so far the Q2 is an exceptional earphone that earns four stars for only one reason. That darn bias towards Android and Blackberry!

Having been a huge fan of Apple's Bluetooth Headset that was available around the time of the original iPhone, I spent a long time researching currently available alternative. I eventually decided to try the BlueAnt Q2 since it was the least visually offensive and was reasonably compact.

Unfortunately, the firmware in this device is maddening. A male voice speaks to you for every action: "Powering up", "Pairing", etc. None of this is necessary where a simple audio tone would suffice. This isn't even the worst offense though: Paired with my iPhone 4S (which was actually fairly easy to accomplish) it is impossible to successfully transfer an already active voice call from the phone to the headset. In some cases, the iPhone's "Phone" app would completely crash, killing the voice call in the process! At other times the headset wouldn't ring when a call was coming in even though it was fully paired, which is inconvenient if your phone is silenced and not physically on your person.

I was looking for was a simple headset that would stay paired, and let me answer and end calls with a single button push. In fact, all a device has to do is be as unobtrusive as possible and reliably perform those three things to satisfy me. Unfortunately, all of the extra cruft software in this model completely ruins the experience.

Bottom line: This headset may work great for other people and when paired with other phones, but it wasn't dependable for me paired with my iPhone 4S.
