This landscape light is well built and throws the light down, where it should be. Do the right thing: light up your landscaping for drama, not so that it looks like an airport runway.

I LOVE this fixture. Great rich brown finish, coated metal, just the right proportions. However, when I went to wire it into my existing yard lighting system, I discovered that the Malibu-style wiring connectors are literally total garbage. There are just these two little very flimsy metal spikes that are supposed to press together and cut through your wiring coating to make a connection. However, the spikes are flimsy and very short, and look to be no longer than the wiring rubber coating itself. So, there is basically no way that they will ever work. I tried 3 different times, in different places on the main wire, and it's just not happening. Be prepared to have to remove the supplied connectors from this light and either do manual splice wiring into your system (time consuming because you have to cut the lead wire at every light and reconnect with waterproof wiring caps), or find some other much better quality quick connectors (which I haven't found yet).

Considering the cost of these lights as compared to more expensive metal landscape lights, these lights are excellent. Note, however, that while the fixture is metal, the stake that holds them in the ground is plastic so you must follow the instructions and loosen the soil with a shovel before pressing them in the ground. The area I was dealing with was full of gravel which was difficult to dig even with a shovel so I hammered a stake in the ground where I wanted the light to go and just wiggled the stake all around until I had a hole big enough to insert the light... easy. Also... I installed 20 of these path lights and the fasteners that come on the light work just fine.
