These are just the best Illuminated Magnifiers and such a good price. These were given to elderly members of the chuch and they all said what a help they have been to them when reading, writing checks, looking a magazine pictures etc. Anyone having sight problems would enjoy one of these.

It is very disappointing that Vivitar has succumbed to the 'power inflation' that other sellers of magnifying glasses have resorted to.

They list these three lenses as having 4x, 6x, and 7x power. I tested them:
The 7x is actually 2.8x.
The 6x is actually 2.3x.
The 4x is actually 2.2x.

So why am I not giving them just one star? Because they're cheap and useful and the LED illumination is very good - excellent for looking at a map in a dark car.

If you're looking for a magnifier that does what is claims to do, look here on Amazon for "Bausch and Lomb 5x aspheric". It's only 2" in diameter, but it really does give 5x.
